A printer is a piece of hardware for a computer. An external hardware device responsible for taking computer data and generating a hard copy of that data. Printers are one of the most used peripherals on computers and are commonly used to print text, images, and photos. It can also work with digital cameras to print directly without the use of a computer. The printer interprets the program, and the output the result. There are two big classes of such languages: Page description languages, and Printer Control languages. A page description language describes what a page should look like. Printer command languages are at a lower level than Page description languages. A device that prints text or illustrations on paper. Printers are Output devices used to prepare permanent Output devices on paper. Some printers only print in black and white, but most include a color option as well. modern printers are fortunately more reliable than the printers of the past. modern printers have a high DPI (dots per inch) setting, which allows documents to printed with a very fine resolution. The two most common types of printers are inkjet and laser printers.
