What is Android

Android is the mobile operating system developed by Google. Essentially, Google produces the software that runs almost every other mobile phone besides Apple's iPhone. Android was unveiled in 2007 along with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance: a consortium of hardware, software, and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices There are also some popular Android tablets as well. The first Android-powered phone was sold in October 2008. Android is a Linux-based software system, and similar to Linux, is free and open source software. This means that other companies can use the Android operating system developed by Google and use it in their mobile devices (more on that later). The distinguishing factor of this brand is a kernel. Android hosts a central core, which essentially is a strip code that helps the software operate.
The latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, or simply Android ICS introduces a bunch of new features never seen before in its prior iterations. Android 4.0 ICS has a brand new look although it does maintain some resemblance to Android Honeycomb, it would be available for tablets as well as smart phones. The Galaxy Nexus would be the first smart phone with the new version, and it is expected to hit the Indian stores in November.

At well under an inch at the thickest point, the Air offers a thin design coupled with an extremely lightweight package for a notebook that has the same basic footprint as the standard MacBook. Windows 8 (An operating system developed by Microsoft)

The next major release of the Microsoft Windows operating system, Windows 8 officially debuted on October 26th, 2012 following a release to manufacturing on August 1st.
According to Microsoft, Windows 8 is a completely redesigned operating system developed from the ground up with touch screen use in mind as well as near-instant-on capabilities that enable a Windows 8 PC to load and start up in a matter of seconds rather than in minutes.
Windows 8 replaces the more traditional Microsoft Windows OS look and feel with a new design system interface codenamed "Metro" that first debuted in the Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system. The Metro user interface primarily consists of a "Start screen" made up of "Live Tiles," which are links to applications and features that are dynamic and update in real time. Users will also be able to switch between apps in Metro by simply swiping across the screen.
Windows 8 also features the latest Internet Explorer Web browser, Internet Explorer 10, as well as integrated cloud-based online services like Microsoft’s app store and Office 365. The new operating system will also likely add built-in support for newer technologies like USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0.
Windows 8 introduces significant changes to the operating system's graphical user interface and platform, such as a new interface design incorporating a new design language used by other Microsoft products, a new Start screen to replace the Start menu used by previous versions of Windows.

Multinational Companies in India

Multinational companies are the enterprises or organizations that manage production or offer services in more than one country. India has been the home to a number of multinational companies. Indeed, since the financial liberalization in the country in 1991, the number of multinational companies in India has increased noticeably. Although majority of the multinational companies in India are from the U.S., however one can also find companies from other countries as well.
Multinational companies in India are taking their toll on family businesses. They are not only destroying the household economies for small business people but also leading to the cultural uniformity of the global brands in the market place in India. There are many reasons why the multinational companies are coming down to India.
India has got a huge market. It has also got one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Besides, the policy of the government towards FDI has also played the most important role in attracting the multinational companies in India. For quite a long time, India had a restrictive policy in terms of foreign direct investment. As a result, there was lesser number of companies that showed interest in investing in Indian market. However, the scenario changed during the economic liberalization of the country, especially after 1991.

What makes Apple Successful

10 things that makes Apple successful It’s interesting, Apple claims to have served billion application’s to it’s iPod Touch/iPhone customers, in just 9 months. That’s huge! And surely a successful business concept. Considering that several Apps on the Store are for sales, ranging from $0.99 to $9.99. And of course there are the expensive ones selling around $14 - $20+. That’s definitely a lot of Revenue, both for Apple and the developers. So what is it that makes Apple so successful? Why is it, that this one company does so well doing, what they are doing, while others just keep fumbling - even after trying to imitate the same idea? Apple definitely has the edge when it comes down to innovation (Disclaimer: I personally use the iPhone, and just can’t get over the possibilities of the product. I am sure even Apple, might have surprised itself, with the possibilities of it’s own product). These are a few things , In my opinion. where Apple has got the equation correct. And what other business can do a little bit of learning from. 1. Innovation - Allow innovation within the organization, you will be shocked to discover the creative pool within your own company. 2. Encourage Creativity - following up on the above point, Creativity will give you the edge over competition. 3. Research and Development - While several businesses shy away from R&D, there is a great ROI hidden from Research and Development, you just have to know how to get it right.
